Implementation of scheme
The ESI Scheme was first implemented in the country in Kanpur & Delhi Centre on 24.02.1952. It was implemented at Nagpur centre of the erstwhile C.P. and Berar Province on 11.07.1954, initially administered from Kanpur, U.P. Later on, the ESI Scheme was introduced in various Districts of Vidarbha Region.
As on date, the Scheme is introduced in 2 district viz. Nasik and Ahmednagar.
Medical Benefits :
Medical Benefits envisaged under the Scheme is administered through the Government of Maharashtra by the Commissioner, ESI Scheme situated at ESIC, Panchdeep Bhavan, Lower Parel, Mumbai.
Full Medical care comprising out-patient services, specialist services and hospital services have been provided under the scheme through service dispensaries, diagnostic centers and ESIS Hospital under this Sub Region.
There are 5 dispensaries at various locations in SRO Nasik region area under the control of Administrative Medical Officer, ESIS, Government of Maharashtra, Nasik of which 05 dispensaries are functioning at Nagpur Dist. .
At present, 2 Branch Offices namely, Satpur , Ambad and 2 DCBO namely, Sinnar, Ahmednagar has functioning under SRO Nasik. These DCBOs will provide the Cash Benefits and Primary Medical Benefits under one Umbrella.
